3 Great Motivations for Sharing Jesus on Social Media

The different social media platforms are ideal for specific things, and sharing about the love of God doesn’t always seem a perfect fit. But what better purpose could there possibly be for the worldwide Internet than to share the truth about Jesus?

We Christians should always be led by the Holy Spirit because then we are assured of being on the right path. Since God’s ways are above ours and His Spirit is our guide, there are actually no rules on how, when, where, and with whom to share your testimony or a Biblical message. You can be assured, however, that the following are great motivations for sharing your faith in a social media post.

Share your Testimony

Miracles drew crowds to Jesus when he walked the earth, and people are also drawn to us when we become spectacles to behold. Transformation occurs because of salvation, and that transformation becomes our testimony. For lifetime smokers to be instantly empowered to quit is a wonderful miracle that happens but small potatoes compared to what God can do in a redeemed life. Accepting Jesus as our Savior is the first step of a journey in which we are new creatures and citizens of heaven.

Whatever miracles Jesus has made happen in your life are all part of your testimony. The Bible instructs us in many verses to be his witnesses. It says in Daniel 4:2 : “I want you all to know about the miraculous signs and wonders the Most High God has performed for me.”

To Bring Light into Darkness

People who are going through terrible struggles without God need hope! God’s message to the world is one of love and salvation. People rarely get the opportunity to learn the truth about Jesus because Christianity presented in an honest light is virtually nonexistent in movies, on television, in the news, or anywhere else. There are direct attacks on symbols of Christianity every day, and lawsuits are threatened that result in crosses, Bibles, and scriptures being removed from public appearance.

Where can people in need of the truth find the hope they are searching for? Hopefully from us. If God has put it in your heart to make social media posts about him, his promises, his power, his love, his faithfulness, or any of his other amazing characteristics, please do so prayerfully. You could help to rescue people desperately in need of the hope and peace only God can provide.

Rescue People from Judgment

It’s not politically correct to say so, but hell is a real place. Jesus says more about Hades than he does about heaven. Why do you suppose so? It seems he wanted people to know that there is a very real consequence to rejecting God’s provision for our salvation.

If there was another way to get to heaven, do you think for one minute God would have allowed Jesus to go through the excruciating experience of being crucified and taking on the sin of the world? No way! Salvation through faith in Jesus is available to all. Those who reject it carry a sentence in themselves of being separated from God forever in an unimaginably tormenting place that was actually created for the devil and his followers.

Thank God for the Internet!

Connecting with the world instantly through the Internet has been a gamechanger in so many ways, including evangelism and witnessing. Will you be prayerfully sharing about Jesus on the Internet in 2019?
