Share the Message of God’s Love on a Christian Hoodie for Fall
The fall season arrived on September 22 this year, making now a great time to buy a new Christian hoodie with a message about God’s love. A hoodie will keep you cozy in cool weather, just like love can warm your heart in the cold and stormy seasons of life. A hoodie that says, in essence, “I love God and He loves me” can spread the Good News about our Savior. It’s even better, however, when our actions are expressions of the love of God, similar to the way Jesus lived. After all, love isn’t just a noun. It’s also a verb.
Forgive
Let’s start with the toughest one. Forgiving can require the grace of God, which has been described as the power to do God’s will. People in this world have experienced seemingly unforgivable harm, and perhaps you are one of them. Forgiveness is something that gives new freedom to the person doing the forgiving. Most of all, when we forgive, we can maintain a close relationship with God.
Jesus demonstrated forgiveness in a very graphic way. As he was being nailed to the cross, he asked God to forgive the people doing it because they didn’t know what they were doing. Jesus acted on a Biblical principle when he did that. God tells us we aren’t forgiven by him if we don’t forgive others (Matthew 6:15). As the saying from Alexander Pope says, “To err is human, to forgive divine.” (See Colossians 3:13)
There is no greater example of love being demonstrated through forgiveness than the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. He died on the cross to make a way for us to go to heaven. If we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as Savior, our sins are forgiven and we can exult in a glorious eternity with God. (John 3:16)
Be Kind to the Weak and Disadvantaged
Our Savior demonstrated love by showing kindness, and we should, too. One example is that when children flocked to him, the disciples tried to send them away. But Jesus drew them near, telling the disciples:
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 New English Translation (NET Bible)
We will show kindness as one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). All we have to do is stay rooted in the love of God, and our lives will bear these wonderful fruits. It’s really important for us to allow this process to happen. Otherwise, how can we draw people to the love of God, if we aren’t kind and in other ways like Jesus?
Spread the Good News
A lot of people all around us every day could really use the revelation that God loves them. There’s a good chance people already have the Creator on their minds as they enjoy cooler weather and the dramatic changing of autumn leaves. Let folks know they are loved every time you put on your “God Loves You” hoodie this fall. And be sure to back it up with behavior that might draw people to Jesus. If you’ve had a dramatic life change, like a green leaf turns to a bright orange, the changing of your “colors,” so to speak, will testify of God’s love even more clearly than the words on your Christian hoodie.
