The Best Source for Killer Scripts

The Greatest Plotline Is the Bible

A huge source of entertainment is provided every year by movie-makers. As we enter a whole new beginning in 2018, it’s a great time to focus on the best script source on the planet. The Bible holds amazing true stories that are far superior to the lifeless scripts produced in Hollywood.

Perhaps even more compelling are stories of Christians in which the miraculous is on display in real time. Nothing can top the way salvation through Jesus makes anyone a new creature, no matter how depraved or depressed a life that individual may have previously lived.

It’s worse than unfortunate that Hollywood is apparently hell-bent on leaving out the atoning message of Jesus from their screenplays to be produced.

Ready-Made for Hollywood

Esther is a book in the Bible that reads like a ready-made screenplay. The story is full of drama that unfolds with incredible suspense and has a real twist at the end.

See, there’s this guy who has it in for the entire nation of Israel. He tricks the king into making an irreversible decree that the Jews will be slaughtered. Through courageous secretly-Jewish-Queen-Esther, the trick is exposed and the king makes it possible for the Jews to survive, which they do.

Their enemy is humiliated in grand fashion that shows how God works in mysterious and perfect ways.

Every year since the Jewish people recognize and pay homage to God and the miracle that occurs at the end of the Book of Esther.

Esther has been the subject of movies over the years, including recently. As far as putting millions into production and making it a quality motion picture with a major opening on big screens, that hasn’t been done in Hollywood.

The potential for the story is tremendous.

The Redeemed

One of the breathtaking stories during the life of Jesus is when a woman caught in adultery is brought before Jesus. The plan is to catch him in a contradiction. Biblical law dictated that stoning was the appropriate punishment. Jesus knelt down and wrote something in the sand and then said that whoever is without sin should cast the first stone. Everyone dropped their rocks and left.

Jesus offers redemption for each of us. As it says in The Message translation of the Bible:

“God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.”

Share the Good News

Although movies have a great medium for sharing a story, they aren’t necessary. All of us who have been redeemed have an incredible tale to tell, and God has actually called us to share the Good News.

Tell your story in 2018! Write it in a screenplay, even! Or just tell it over a cup of coffee with friends and neighbors.
